We are delighted to announce the publication of the report of our July 2019 Judges Forum held in San Diego: Aggregate Litigation in State Courts: Preserving Vital Mechanisms. This 142-page report contains the academic papers prepared for the Forum (Federal Trends Affecting Aggregate Litigation in the State Courts by Professor D. Theodore Rave of University of Houston Law Center; and Rethinking Multijurisdictional Coordination of Complex Mass Torts by Professor Myriam Gilles of Cardozo Law School, Yeshiva University), commentary by panelists, and frank discussions and points of agreement among the 122 judges from 30 states who attended the Forum and participated in small discussion groups. Also included is an in-depth discussion of serial objectors in aggregate litigation by Professor Robert Klonoff of Lewis & Clark Law School. We are delighted to add this report to Pound’s library of research on issues relevant to the civil justice system.
The report is available for free download via Pound’s website. Judges, courts, law libraries, law schools and Pound Fellows may request a hard copy of the report. To view all of Pound’s Forum reports and other publications, visit http://www.poundinstitute.org/publications/.
